What year Dyna? Do you have access to a service manual...pics of these new lights you're installing?

Do you new lights have something telling what each color is for? Otherwise you're just guessing.

I bet black is ground and the other two are for the other two things, I would wire the other two until I get them right.

Where in Ireland?

County Kerry is a beautiful place! We'd love to see it, be a chum and post us some pics of what it looks like round your county, pics of your bike about town, pubs, critters, weeds, ringforts, what have you, we will look at everything

On the dyna the black is ground, blue is running light and purple is indicator / brake light. On the bike somewhere is a convertor module for the indicator and brake function.

Except where I am in the UK red cannot be used for the indicator and so the rear lights contain 3 separate LED lights.

For the new lights just use an old battery to check what is what.

It looks like you are expecting the new signal units to also work as brake lights, on some years this is possible, on other years a separate module is needed.

Does the bike have an aftermarket module for brake, turn, run ?

We must know the year of the machine so we can look at the wiring diagram and understand the circuit.

On the wires in your pic, black is ground, blue is running lights, violet is left turn signal, brown is right turn signal, there is no brake light wire in the pic.
