The bushings go in the shaft housing in case you are wondering. The bushings have a mild beveled edge that helps when pressing them in.

$35.99
The problem with "adapting" is knowing whether this peg will withstand a hard braking application during collision avoidance. Will that threaded bolt fail or break off?

I've been wondering this when somebody else mentioned it a while back...but... tc bro has a forward controls assembly that uses that kind of peg in their kit. Could they have a safety issue as well?

If you are going through all the trouble and expenses of changing the controls, you might as well upgrade to mid controls. That's what I would do.

I actually have both forward and mid-controls. The "mid-controls" are just pegs though, braking and gear changes are still done by the forward controls. I did this just to give my legs and feet somewhere else to rest on long highway rides.

I have mid controls with hiway pegs. That's the way the bike came stock, and I very seldom use the hiway pegs. Even though I have a 34 inch inseam, they just aren't comfortable for me and I feel like I have better control of the bike using the mid controls.
