Thats a possibility I guess. But if you keep yours adjusted properly I bet it will last a lot longer than you think.

If concerned replace the belt with a new stock HD belt.

I've had my best success with OEM 1" and 1 1/8" belts.. 120/125 HP/tq..

I agree stock is the way. My built 95” FXDX will pull the front wheel up with ease and I like doing it and haven’t snapped a belt yet. The key is to not rip on a “cold” belt…. You shouldn’t rip on the bike when it is cold overall anyway…

Hell most of the local stunt guys around here on early Dynas/FXRs/Sportsters run a belt and those guys beat the **** outta their bikes.
