My seat has been washed plenty of times, I never let the water soak into the seat and I never have had a problem, but great idea my make washing the bike a faster process.
I always take the seat off now it used to get wet and after i dried the bike off it would drip water out one of the holes on the bottom side and get water spots all over the primary cover and fuse box and would drip like this for a while. So now take the seat off grab plastic bag cover all electrical and wash, but I'll try the glad press and seal next time thanks for the tip.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

I started taking the seat off because after I washed the bike I would get a wet a$$ from the water that got into the seat at the seams.
You guys must be using waaaay more water than I do if you get your seat water logged when washing!
There was a time I did cover the handlebar switches with plastic if I was going to be riding in a lot of rain.I heard it somewhere &guess it was preventative but I got tired of it and have never had a problem.
If you've got "Denim Black" on a Street Bob with a 2 up seatand like to revert back to the solo seat isn't it wisethat you remove the seat to wash under it or a crappy grey outline formsat the area where the seat rests on the paint work. Before you begin to wash the bike can apply leather wax tothe seat, giving plenty of time for it to soak in before buffing the excess off, if you wax the seat while it's on the bike you'll get wax on the paint work, right? I also like the idea of putting something over the electrics to keep them as dry as possible too.
