Default 2008 Wide Glide Handlebar Control Wiring?

Please pardon what must seem like silly questions, as I'm new to big twins and just feeling my way along.

I mentioned in another thread that I've been pulling my stock wide glide bars back to be more comfortable for me. As the bars have come back, in several stages, I've been rotating the handle bar controls forward so the brake and clutch levers aren't sticking up in the air.

On my last adjustment, I reached a point where I couldn't (easily) rotate the hand controls any further. At first I thought there may be some mechanical limit to adjusting the handle bar controls. But after some more thought, I'm thinking the resistance to further rotation is actually being limited by the handlebar harnesses where they pass through an opening in the HB. But I have no idea of the size and shape of this pass opening for the harness. Does this sound correct?

I'd rather not disassemble the controls to investigate, unless I have to and would appreciate any pix or description of the HB opening to get a better feel for what I'm doing.

Anyone?

You are correct, the wires are the limiting factor.
Do not force the issue

It might be the wiring. Theres either a dimple on the controls that allow the wires to lay flat and not get crimped by the control clamps, or the wores are run internally through the handlebars.
Either way, you may have hit the limit to how much slack you have in the wires.

About half the no start threads anecdotally seem to be guys who just changed their bars. I just move on.

Op makes no mention of a starting issue. He’s Just rotating controls.

Thanks 88, thanks Bubba, thanks Rounder! Yep, my wires run internally inside the bars. Once my suspicion was confirmed, my concern was to avoid any problems, (such as Rounder mentioned), with the harness bumping up against the sharp (?) edge of whatever size/shape pass through opening there is in the handlebar.

I think prudence dictates that I back off a little on the rotation, from where I felt the resistance to further rotation!

I appreciate the replies!
