Default Tssm help me please

Hey folks I have a 2010 fxdb it's a street bob. I've put V&H short shots a couple air filters. Got a rear control arm off a touring bike and put it on mine. No tuners none of that stuff. My bike was stolen but I got it back. It appears they took my tssm apart and it now smells like butt plastic. I ordered another one off eBay but it didn't come with a pin. My bike is sitting at a Harley dealership in Redding California with a $477 Bill to pick it up and they are telling me they can't help me.

First of all before I loose my cool and cause bad blood to boil I want to get some advice from you folks. My bike will fire but immediately shuts down. I feel I can figure out how to change the pin but the tssm I have isn't sinked to my fab, fab antenna or ECU. The dealership says they can't sink the mod because they don't have the pin? There the dealership and if they can't fix the bikes they sell they have no business selling bikes for thousands of dollars. Especially taking my bike not replacing a single part and charging me almost $500 for what!

I asked them if there was a way I could just bypass the whole alarm and everything. They told me no and started getting all loud and difficult. Anybody wanna educate me on what I should do from here please?

I'm thinking you have insurance, let them deal with it.

I bought a used tssm with the fobs, no problem. If you didn't get the fobs you are in the same position as a thief.
Alarms are optional, or were most years, is buying a turn signal module without security an option?

The bike was stolen and damaged, it is between you and the insurance company, not you and the dealer.

Typically you buy a used TSSM with either the FOB's or the Pin to avoid exactly this. I agree with the others that this should be an insurance issue, not a you issue. Now if you don't have insurance, then it's a you issue. You authorized them to work on it using used part, they deserve to get paid, even if they couldn't help. I think the charge is a bit ridiculous, they would know in the 1st 20 minutes if they couldn't get in to it.

I "thought" HD Digital Technician had the ability to change the pin, but it doesn't look like it in this dealers case. There other tools out there such as Centurion Super Pro that can do this. It powers the TSSM independently from the bike bypassing everything so it can be programed. Go to their website and find a shop in your area and they can help you. https://technoresearch.info/dealer-map/

As for the FOB's, you'll need their programing numbers to enter in to the TSSM. When buying them new, it comes in a tag with it written on there. They "should" also be inside the existing FOB's, but I've seen many that are unreadable.

All that said...... Yes, you "can" remove the TSSM and replace it with a TSM. You'll just have the regular key to use. Use an independent shop from your search above to do the work. Dealers are hit or miss doing this since it is not how it came from the factory. Changing it will cost the same as having them just reset the TSSM tho, so there is no cost savings by going this route.

I highly recommend that you do NOT Google "butt plastic".

I meant to say burnt plastic or electrical burning.
