Both of my engine mounts needed to be replaced so I bought and Installed the
Drag Specialty poly mounts. I think I made a mistake using these.
the vibration that is now transmitted through the bike is very harsh.
I tried recentering them twice with no chnge.
Does anyone have experience with them?
do the settle in over time and reduce the vibration?

Yeah, I had the front and back installed last year by my Indy shop. No issues for me and my bike.... so far.
I also installed the polyurethane handle bar bushings as well. Just installed 10" 6 bend handle bar. Still no issues.

Yes, I've used them. That harsh vibration is normal for poly mounts. They don't really settle in or get better over time. They are much stiffer than rubber, so they transmit every bit of engine vibration directly into the frame. You trade smoothness for a more solid feel during hard acceleration. For a more comfortable ride, you'll likely need to switch back to OEM rubber mounts.

I had the same issue with my 06 electra, DS mounts just about shook me off my bike. I went back to oem and all is well again.
My Indy changed my mounts back in Spring and I think he used DS mounts as well, but not 100% sure on the brand. I know its not OEM because they look different.
Anyway, I also have a lot more vibration in the bars and the pegs with the aftermarket mounts.
Thanks all.
That confirms what I was thinking. I will give it 1k miles or so and see what I think.
I am finding that the older I get to less tolerant I seam to be when it comes to vibration.

I know the feeling and I have something for you guys that don't appreciate numb hands. I found a pair of handlebar weights online last winter from over in Europe, it took months for them to arrive and when they did, much to my disappointment they were poorly thought out as for how they were to secure properly inside my apes. So I used them for the prototype design that was a success and I plan to make another pair for a friend. I had pics of the prototypes but lost them in my last crashed computer, however I hope to have my first new ones made as soon as I get my newly acquired lathe up and running. Oh ya, these weights most certainly reduce handlebar vibration!! I highly recommend this approach.

Got it. The stock mounts are way better. Those aftermarket DS ones are way too stiff and just pass the vibration right to the frame. Sticking with OEM was the right move.
I had to replace the front mount in my 2003 FXDWG a few years ago. My dealer told me they could no longer get the mounts from Harley so I got a DS mount. I did notice increased vibration after installing it, but thankfully I put in a six speed gearset years ago so on the highway it still isn't too bad. I definitely notice it at other speeds.
I wonder if my dealer was correct? Are the OEM mounts for older twinkies no longer available? Does any aftermarket company still make rubber engine mounts?
Also the frames changed for dyna TCs in 2006. The Evos, early and late dynas all use the same mount so they DS mounts will likely behave differently bike to bike. Also some buke have different length rear shocks which affect the loading on the mounts. It's worthwhile when discussing to include which bike you have including year.
