I did it myself. I do have extensive mechanical skills, was an automechanic for 15 years. BUT its reallt easy, all in the directions and much more comfotable to ride after its done. Good Luck. Feel free to pm me with any questions.
If you're going to forwards on an FXDC, do you have to remove the shaft from the primary, or can you just bend the back linkage towards the bike, and put a cap where the shift used to be?? Stupid question, I'm sure...
hey, a couple questions...i cant see the pic of the nice blue bike very well...does it have a heel shifter? if so how does it work and where did you get it...also, did you have any issues with the engine guard? it looks ok on this side but how bout the break...i have an 07 fxd and may like to give it a try...what did you use to secure the original shift shaft?
OK Here goes. In the picture in my signature the bike did not have the fowards yet.
The Harley kit comes with everything to secure and cap the original shifter shaft. Easy as pie, trust me.
The engine guard has to be changed when I put the fowards on. I had to use the engine guard from a wide glide.
I do not have a heel toe shifter, I have thought about it, so any input would be great.
I also have the kuryakin switchblade pegs with the fowards, I really like them, they give me more surface area for my big feet.
