Tire question?
My OEM tires were the Dunlop D401F on the front and the K591 on the rear. When I was shopping for a replacement rear tire I found both the front and rear tire in the Dunlop K591. I thought since my bike was an early run 2006 Dyna that the K591 for the front hadn't been invented yet or the MOCO had a lot of D401F's laying around and put that on instead of the K591.
Then I got the American Iron mag and, in the specs for the 2008 Dyna models, the front tire is listed as a D401F for all of the 19" front tires.
Why wouldn't the MOCO put the K591 on both the front and the rear? Why put the D401F on the front instead of the available K591 19"?
Is there some reason the K591 wouldn't work on the front instead of the D401F?
Does anyone know?
If you look at the tires the bikes still carry the same series tires except for the rocker, the rocker carries the fat rear tire and they have gone from a 70 series on back to a 40 series.
If you notise the K591 was flat in the center causing the tire to drift around on the ruts in the road. Hope these new tires ride better. I'm sure you will hear more about them later on.
I myself have 880 metzlers.
