WOOHOO, Its done. The flippen forward controls are on! Just wanted to thank this forum for all the information posted on here(the whole HD forum). It was a great resource for the DIY guy, especially a first time HD owner. It was a chore but definately worth not paying the $350 the dealer wanted.
No Im ready for the Thunder Beach Ralley Trip.
I used the HD brand. They are simple and not to flashy. They are almost to far out for me and I'm 6'1" , of course my torso is longerLOL.
And yes it does give you a nice sense of satisfaction doing it yourself.
It to me about 5 hrs to do it in my garage with basic hand tools and a tool I made myself taking my time. I could do it quicker now knowing some short cuts I found on the forums here. Oh and a service manual is a must.
Congrats Dude! Now use about$55 of the$350 that you savedand get a service manual and you will find outthat most of the jobs you can do yourself and save yourself tons of money.
Good goin'!! Makes for a sweet ride for us folks with long legs.
According to one guy on the forum, only posers would have forward controls on their ride............ With that in mind,
Welcome to the poser group!
I am glad I went with forward controls on my 06.Dyna.
