If I had a dollar for everytime I've heard "vibration" "clunking" "rattle" "oil leak" ... I'd beable to buy the factory. What did you think you bought? The clunk is normal. Flushing out your primary with cleaner isnt.
Just wrote a very nice message just to get that fu#~%@ "Sorry" message.
The main question that I would really appreciate if someone could tell me is the brand and type of ATF used and most of all if the clunking problem improved. I thank all of those who gave positive answers and to the "CLUNK" fan club to also go and complain to Harley about the leakless engines they build now, since the new bikes don't mark their territory any longer....(another trademark from H-D)
I also Stress!
Like FLHTPjeff and up in minot both said! Your friend doesn't know his AZzz from a Hole in the grnd! By adding cleaning agents, you take away any lubricity needed for the clutch disc'c and friction plates. You will smoke your clutch and who knows what other possible damage may incur!
Slap the Shirt out of your friend for me will ya, geez with friends like this who needs any enemies! WTF!
I paid a lot of money for that clunk. sure as h**l not looking to get rid of it That cleaning agent idea is is like letting all the air out of your tires for a smoother ride!
All these people telling you it's normal and you still want to get rid of it? Why?
We are not a clunk, "fan club", we just happen to be the ones whounderstand that the clunk isthe normal sound of a Harley- Davidson transmission engaging first gear.
