I purchased my bike on May 11th, 2007......brand new Dyna Low Rider, with their CUSTOM PAINT of Dark Green & Light Green Envy..... Was delivered on May 25th. I Dropped it on June 2nd. THANK GODNESS FOR ENGINE GUARDS, andproper riding attire. For me it was because I'm 5'2", have a 26" inseam, am 57 yrs oldand a female with not a lot of upper body strength.Even with aReach Seat, having thefront end lowered and shocks adjusted, I still could only reach the ground on the ***** of my feet standing straight up. WhenI slowed to come to a stop, Iwas on un-even pavement....the left side was lower than the right..... When Itriedget my foot down, Imusthaveturned the front wheelto the left. That's all it took....I just couldnt hold it up and overI went. I put a scrap on my elbow (evenwearing asleeved jacket) plusthechromepart of the rear left turn signal, asmall scrape on the bottom of the engine guard and bottom of the primary cover. I was so worried my custom paint job would be ruined, but it wasnt. I shutter to think what would have happened without those guards.Actually, I like how they look on the bike too. Anyway, there is a happy ending to my story. I found riding boots with 3" heels.....and now I can sit on my bike with both feet flat on the ground. What a huge difference for me, my confidence, my stabilityand my overallsafety. I no longer FEAR getting onboard....let alone riding and coming to a stop in traffic, or in an emergency situation. I'll belogging my first 1000 miles this weekend.
Get the Engine guards. They're worth it tenfold.
