Frank the cam covers are not threaded out of the box.. The screws are all self tapping and I think they change the thread pattern now and then in the newtimer cover packages

If they had removed that useless port they wouldn't be able to sell custom covers to crazy bastards like us! I like the storage idea. When I replace mine this week I may contemplate a spare house key or beer money stash in the empty hole, but don't tell H-D or else they'll figure out a way to make more **** that we don't need like a dealer/service only tool to get into the bugger!
