Default Point cover Removal

HI All,

Going to replace the Point cover. Is it pretty much just the removal of the 5 screws ? Do I need to replace a gasket if there is one. Maybe a little locktite when putting the screws back on. Thanks for any Help.

Are you talking about the fake timing plate on the camchest cover? Assuming yes, there is no gasket underneath, and yes, use blue threadlocker and retorque to specifications.

There is nothing under that cover but a cavity. No gasket. You could keep a spare key in there if you want to. But wrap it in leather or the rattle might get you going.

Don't do anything in the way of locktight. There is already some on the screws. Just tighten them down reasonably.
