I saw a post here a few weeks ago on putting air shocks on an 06Dyna.I think the post said theycame from a Classic. Has anyone else done that and are the shocks from a Classic a fit? And, will they improve the ride enough to bother. These are available all day every day on Ebay. Will these fit with no alterations to the bike? Thanks, OLDED
I'm looking for a softer ride, these are about 12" eye to eye, which is about the same as a stock Low Rider shock, and I assume they have a softer spring that you can firm up with air pressure without affecting ride height.
Any air shocks from an Electraglide will fit.The ride is much nicer than stock Superglide shocks.I have a set of stock Eglide shocks I will be getting rid of in a week or so but they're slightly taller than Superglide shocks and probably allot taller than lowrider shocks. If you want something that will look decent on a Lowrider you need the "Profile" lowering shocks.Still a bargain compared with aftermarket shocks at least for ride quality the handling is definately an improvement as well. Why am I getting rid of mine? I recently chopped my rear fender Nightster style and the full sized Eglide shocks look ridiculas like a home made dirt bike or something.
For an upgrade of shocks, go here. Not a cheap alternitive. For performance enhasments only, but needed to make your bike ride smooth nd go around corners. If price is the factor than these are not for you but maybe the girl holding them is. LINK: http://motorcyclemetal.com/gpage8.html
I got a pair of new Harley Low profile air shocks for $85 on E-bay. The ride is great, especially if you do a lot of two-up riding. If you get the small pump from Harley you don't really need the kit to use a single air connection. The only issue I had was that the chrome cover of the top of the shock didn't fit on the new shocks. With my Street Bob less chrome is no big issue.
