i would havta agree sounds like octane problem. try and find something like 92 or higher. i know it's tough. or you may havta take it to the shop and see what they can do.or maybe some booster. if i went that way i would use . L.H.P. you can get that thru J&P cycle.

If you hear ping that is pinging this will deteriorate the spark plug and eventually cause damage to internal engine components ie valves rings etc. Make sure you are running 91 oct. If you are try a different gas station if that does not work bring it in for service

I had the same issue in my 07 street bob. Octain was the answer for me. I was riding in the "sticks " and had to geta gallon of85 octain or run out and it made the ping sound. Found civilization and 91 octain and the noises went away.

If you are running max octane, try a different brand of gas. I had pinging problems in other vehicles and changed brands (Chevron)based upon recomendations from others and have not had problems since.
