Thanks everyone,
I,ll try to answer your questions. The rear is an independent suspension with differential and dual adjustable shocks on each side. They used a driveshaft with universal joints for each wheel. It rides and corners really well.Of course it corners different than 2 wheels, you have to get used to not pushing down on the bars.As for power I already had the SE stage I done so it has enough for me.I'm sure you lose some with the diff and the 215-60-16 tires. The speedo is supposed to remain the same but I haven't checked. You can get a reverse installed. The kit is about $1300.00 and doesn't seem too hard to install. It is actually easier to move around than a two wheeler because you don't have to hold it up.I haven't tried a donut LOL but it probably would.Jerry, the guy that did the conversion said it would wheelie but it would also tear up the diff so I won't be trying that. You can also buy the kit and do the work yourself and the warrany is still good I believe. Here is the DFT website : http://www.dfttrikes.com/ . The Dr. has me on about 10 pills a day and so far the ra isn't too bad, hope it lasts.Later,Donnie
Edit:The Lindby highway bars I had on are for sale in the For Sale section.
If You don't mind my asking, what did the trike conversion total cost. My best friend has bad knees and a bad hip but still wants to ride and can't hold up a regular bike anymore. I have been checking into some conversion kits for him online and DFT out of Addison, Illinois is the closest to us. We might be able to do the work ourselves as we are both pretty handy with wrenches but not licensed mechanics.
Mark,
The kit was $9135.00.Wheels&tires,painting,and labor will vary depending on location etc.I chose Turner Trikes because he was close and I had seen his work. There are lots of other kits out there,I would check with your insurance company to make sure they cover the kit you are interested in.Foremost Ins. doesn't cover some of them.If I had time I would have done the conversion myself except for painting.Donnie
That is one sweet looking trike. My mother had RA and I know how painful it can be. I'm glad to see that you made the choice to keep on riding. I hear they have come out with some good new drugs for RA. I wish you well.
Have been looking into getting a trike for my wife. She had a real bad car accident about 8 years ago and now has her back fused and it is too hard for her to ride a 2 wheeler. Wonder on conforable the trikes are???
welcome to 3 wheels i did the same on a roadglide after my last wreck that was near fatal, but like most true bikers cant live without riding............enjoy the 3 wheels...mine is a lehman conversion, and i can tell you it handles better than most bikes!!!!!!!!!
I`m new to the site and still learning my way around. Trike looks great! Getting my trike enabled me to get back in the wind due to a back injury. A friend of mine started rebuilding the servicar from a basket case. He could`nt finish it and asked if I wanted to buy it from him knowing that I was dying to ride again. Took a little time to get the feel of it but I`m back riding! How do you like riding yours? Was it hard for you to get used to after being on two wheels? Mine has reverse in it, does the conversion give you reverse? I`m thinking about trying to change front wheel on my wide glide from a narrow 21 inch to a fatter, more shock absorbing tire to improve the ride. Still asking around because of the dual discs. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Whatever it takes to keep the wind in your face excellent choice, My father has had hip replacement and is considering a third wheel if he can get a reverse as well. Nice ride!
