Are so lazy they can't look info up for themselves. There should be a sticky thread about searching this forum and the web before asking for info that they can easily find.
This really ticks me off.
I looked up a part number for someone to see if it would fit their bike, why couldn't he do that?

Hey man, I'm new to the Harley world but I know Google!! LOL! I normally don't ask until I've exhausted all that I know, but I feel you!! I'm an NCO in the Army, currently deployed in Iraq, I friggin HATE IT when someone comes to me with a question about something that they haven't even attempted to find on their own!!

 

Yeah I know what ya mean...only thing worse is when people post about people who dont use the search! Would be a fricken boring forum if we had the same 5 threads to read each day. I know, maybe we will all just take the dealers word for everything! I gotta say that the only thing that I really hate on here is when people start bashing others about being to lazy! You don't wanna look up a part number that you feel someone else could have done then don't do it, but don't get on here crying about the fact that you DID look it up....Perhaps we should start giving out buttons that say "I helped someone today please pitty me" i bet you drive by little old ladies stranded on the side of the road with flat tires and yell "check the search function" to them!
Maybe it's just the fact that I am really tired or that its flippen cold this morning but it just hits a nerve when people rant about helping others.....ya wanna rant about lazy people then rant about the damn guy standing on the corner holding the signs that say will work for food.....rant about the healthy guy on welfare....but dont rant about your fellow riders because they either didnt use the search OR maybe they just didnt find the info they needed! I know I have tried to look up forward controls info and had at least 1000 hits for **** sites!!!

 

Get some rest Rooster, you must be tired if you're equating people not looking up info before asking to little old ladies broken down on the side of the road. It's called "venting" brother, I'm sure when your wife or girlfriend pisses you off and you tell your friends that she's horrible (or use your own phrase) that you don't truly mean it. I will help ANYONE out if they need , that doesn't mean that I don't wish they'd do a little research themselves. Heck! I'm in the friggin desert and I'm still helping people online back in the states!!! I'm not mad atcha brother, just venting a little on my end here.

 

It is a Forum !! not a chat room.. Ignore the posts that " Ticks me off". Agreed they could read there Manual first.. But what Ticks me off is 46 deg, Cloudy, Windy,

 

Being fairly new to the forum, I have to admit.
Yeah, I might be an old guy by some standards, and do get by on a computor, but at first, I actually didn't know how to do a search, I didn't see the little tab on top.
I also must admit, after learning how to use the search, there is a wealth of knowledge in this forum and some great people to go along with that knowledge.

But in the end, I have to agree with Trotter,adda little moisture, get really ticked off!

 

Tip for others is that sometimes on this board you should ignore the 'no results found' message and run the search again from the search page ... dunno why but it often doen't give a result the first time.

Its raining today (I know ... I live in England !) ... that grey wet kind of rain ... that p's me off. And New Zealand aren't playing in the Rugby world cup today being knocked out last week ... p'ed about that too !

 

Want pi$$ed off and frustrated? Try 36 degrees and sunny - tempting, so very tempting but freezing my a** off.

 

Now as far as the serch function,it can worksometimes too well.You end up with 100 pages of BS when ya really want to cut to the chase.
I fail to see how someone can complain about helping someone who asks for assistance.Thats why most of us are here to begin with.
I mean it aint like theres a friggin fog hornthat goes off every time someone asks for a but of info on a forum.I can see the complaint if that were the case.
If you feel that a question is below your intelligence,or a waste of your time DONT FRIGGIN ANSWER IT!!
But if ya do,dont complain about it.
Thats what ticks me off.
