I am planning on getting the yellow (1,500 pound) lift from Sears but am now confused as to wether I need an adapter from the dealer or not.
Can anyone clarify? 2006 Street Bob...
If it's a Dyna, you need the adapter kit, or several wood shims. I usually shim mine, but since it's up for the winter already, I went and bought the kit for the stealer.
I recently bought the yellow lift from sears on sale 149.00....... Yes you need the adapters yes you could make some... the adapters were 20 bucks + from the stealer.... You can lift the bike yourself with some practice but 2 people makes it easier.... Have not used the tie downs that came with it yet but if your gonna crank on something I recommend it.The Yellow jack comes down fast and you could really make a mess of your Bike or yourself or whoever is helping ............ let it down slowly........
I have the red one from Sears and have used it on all different kinds of bike for the last3 years with no problems, I also have the cheap Horrible Freightlift table and haven't had any trouble with that.
How's about some pics of these jacks in action? If anybody has adapters I'd like to see them too. I'm 6 hours away from a jack seller and have always been a "seeing is beliving" type of fella. TIA

I wrote a post on this awhile back - I don't see how you are able to get a FXDL under one of the Sears or Pepboys lifts, as the kickstand hits the horizontal tube on the jack before the bike is underneath the jack. Also, on the Lowrider, most of the jacks need to be about 1" lower to the ground.
For Low Rides and lowered bikes I use 2 pieces of 3/4 inch plywood 1 under each wheel and a piece of 2x6 under the kick stand until I get the jack under the bike with Dyna Lift Adapter Kit 98965-99. Yes the jack will hit the kick stand. I pull the jack back just enough to clear it with the kick stand down and there is plenty of pad left to jack the bike up.
