ok i read this whole thread because i had some questions about similar subject.... and i wonder now from this conversation in 2007 to the present how much has changed. I dont know if anyone will ever see this being its this old...but it was a good thread.
Not that I'm partial or anything being a Fat Bob owner but I would still pick it for handling over the Street. Ultimately, however, I would agree with what most others have posted; it's a question of weight, tire size, braking & riding style.
To be clear, I loathe the stock suspension on both models and it was the first thing I upgraded on my Fatty.
Also, not quite sure about the Street but my Fatty has less lean angle available to the right than left (and I'm weird and prefer to only grind on the bench rather than on my ride).

I wouldn't buy a Street Bob if I was you.
Horrible bike!!
Ride both, make your own choice. I did and bought the Street Bob - but for others, the FB would be the "best " choice.
I did the progressive 430 shock and front spring kit upgrade on my Street Bob last week - I'm happy with the results.
impossible to answer.... i doubt that there are that many riders on here that could push either bike to its ultimate limits to determine which handled better.....you can ride either one and you are going to think they both handle great as they are more than likely, well within your ability.....now a fat bob vs a fat boy...............well i have a fat bob cause a monkey could tell the difference... and if its the op's first bike doesnt mean **** anyway.... i mean better handling compared to....? nothing to base your opinion on...
They both handle great. The Fat Bob gives you nice stability with the wide tires vs the quicker leaning pizza cutter on the Street Bob. Twin discs are nice but you can upgrade your pads or caliper on the Street Bob. I would say it's close enough that you should just pick which you enjoy the looks and feeling of more.
