Input on fork slugs
Does anybody know of these? Does installing 2" fork extensions effect trail much? I also read a long time ago here that someone knew of a guy back in the 70's that went down when both slugs snapped. Sounds like poor workmanship to me.
I've used slugs on 2 different bikes and have not had a problem. You can't reallynotice any difference in handling.
The one that are currently on my bike are 2" and I will be wanting to sell them probably next week. I'm going 4" over on my tubes.

Hows the look difference from 2 to 4?4inches isnt too awkward looking for thedegree of rake on the WG is it?Itd be nice if you had a pic of your bike from the side with forks straight forward.
As I wrote in the other thread, I saw 2 slugged bikes go down. One had the joint below the lower tree and both tubes broke at the slug joint resulting in an instant header. The other bike had slugs that were between the upper and lower trees. Only one tube broke, again at the joint. Guy went down, mostly (I think) because the front wheel cocked and locked against the caliper. Plenty of guys have ridden slugged bikes. They are probably OK if the joint is between the trees, but even then the front end is not going to be as strong as normal.
My opinion - no on slugs. Get the extended tubes.
