Default Service Manual

Is it worth the money to buy it? I am by no means a wrench, but I don't trust any of the shops around here, most of the people there appear to be idiots. I want to be able to do minor things to my bike myself (hand grips, bars, oil change), but don't want to F it up...will it help that much?

Definately do get it, and also the parts manual !!! The parts manual shows exploded views of every component on the bike and gives part numbers for every piece. Very helpfull when you need to get parts. All the hardware (nuts and bolts)are described in detail so you can go to hardware store to buy replacement chrome or stainless hardware.

I would highly recommend it. I just rebuilt the engine in my Electraglide, without the manual I would have been lost. Sometimes it's not correct, but most of the time it is.Worth every penny. If you take it somewhere and they tell you how long it will take to repair, you can kind of get an idea of what they're doing by looking in the shop manual.

Yes do get it. But when you receive it, scan through and make sure it has all the pages. After having mine for about 2 years, and looking at it several times, I went to use it to do my own maintenance for the first time, and found that 16 pages are missing from the only real portion of it I will probably use, the maintenance section. It couldn't be missing from the Head removal section, oneI probably will never be confident enough to use myself, but had to be in the routine maintenance portion. Yeah well, thats my luck. rant over
