Twomore questions, where is the best place you have all seen online to buy one? Also, I see that there are aftermarket ones, from Clymer? Stay away or are these ok?
I agree, definately get one. Even if you don't wrench, it's killer just to see how a bike goes together. When you see the step by step instructions, you'll say to yourself, "I think I can do that." I checked my local library and found a 2003 Dyna manual on the shelf. Its not my year but a lot of basic procedures are the same no matter what bike you have.
if you look around you may find one for sale i got mine off e bay after someone sold there bike for about half of what it cost from the dealer. or if you do get one from the dealer a lot of them have 10 to 20 percent discount every so often. ours has them once a month when they do there bike nights. i also have one of the haines manuls but it covers all the dyna models so it is hard to follow at times but if your good at decifering it can be helpful.
Would be great money spent!
Picked one up the day after the Girlfriend bought her SG. The way I see it.... $60 is paid for in the first .8 hours of labor at the stealer. Has already paid for itself many times over.
I am no wrench either. But with a manual, a lil common sense, and help from your friends here, ya can dang near do anything! As I mentioned, I am no wrench, next thing I knew I was doing head gaskets and all kinds of other sheeet.
