Default Changing throttle cables

Does anybody know if you need to lift the tank to get to the retainer clip to remove the throttle cables on a 2003 lowrider the manaul doesn't really say. Thanks for any help

Relying on my memory from work I did several months ago, I believe I did unbolt the tank front and rear. There is a cable strap which secures the cable to the frame which are accessible at the bottom side of the tank. I think I lifted the tank to make these cable ties easier to get to and to make sure I didn't cut anything which wasn't suppose to get cut. I also removed the air cleaner and backing plate.

If you remove the rear tank bolt and loosen the front one, you should be able raise the rear of the tank enough to reach in under and get at the cable tie. Block up the rear of the tank with a piece of 2X4. It does help to remove the air cleaner.
