The FXDX is undeniably one of the best bikes Harley ever made with the exception of the mighty FXR. Sharkey's FXDX is one of the most well done bikes I've ever seen. Everything about it says "all business!!"
I think the street bob does have deep roots in the FXDX, but it just doesn't have the amazing suspension that the DX had. I have an 08 Streetbob that I'm tearing apart for rebuild. I've been impressed with it's handling thus far....but again, it's no FXDX. However, it's gonna be about as close as I can get these days when I'm done with hopefully.
I have a 99 FXDX. Working on finishing out making it mine(bought it with just under 12k miles on it). Once i save up enough money i'll be buying a pair of contrast rims for it. Currently I'm going to have my pipes(v&h short shots) ceramiced black. I have a pair of kuryakin iso grips coming in. I put 2 pair of kuryakin large iso pegs on it. I'm also thinking about buying a new derby cover for it and a sissy bar(once i get $$)
