If he bought either a black 27535-08 or silver 27536-08 103" stage I kit, he gets an air cleaner kit with it. Since these kits are '08 Dyna specific, they probably come with the 29406-08 Dyna air cleaner. The '08 air cleaner should bolt up toan '07throttle body since the '07 style air cleaner bolts up to an '08 throttle body ( says so in the SE catalog). Obviously, the '07 air cleaner cover won't work the -08 air cleaner.
Come to think of it, that's actually what I've been seeing in the catalogs. As I was searching for a/c covers and a/c cover inserts for my "big sucker", I noticed some that said "fits all dyna's except '08", etc. So, I think it's just the covers that don't fit the stock backing plate and that's it or the inserts that don't fit the 08 stock covers. I think an entire replacement, such as a SE stage 1 A/C or others will fit since the backing plate and all gets replaced.

I'm not an expert, but I recently tried to have the ness big sucker installed on my 08 superglide. No go, doesn't fit the 08's. Something is definately a little different between the 07 and 08 dyna's.

Went with the HD heavy breather instead. I was weary at first going with something that looked that agressive but it turned out really nice.

Well, I've been wrong before.

Logic would say, based on the above, that an 07 SE stage 1 a/c won't fit either then. Sounds like he's SOL on the a/c.

For what it's worth:
I talked to tech support at Arlen Ness about the Big Sucker fitting my 08 Dyna. I haven't tried one yet to prove it but quoting what he said, "It fits 08 Softails & Dynas, not the touring bikes. They will release a touring model specific kit soon". Obviously you would have a round backing plate instead of the teardrop plate. I believe I would prefer a round filter anyway.

Yea, I like the round plate better anyway. I mighttake a gambleand see if the 07 will fit. I've made worse bets in my life.

Why did you buy the '08 kit if you knew you didn't have an '08? I'm assuming you got a good deal on it.
