This is my frist post, and I just order my frist H-D 08 SG vivde black. Does any one have the spec on the 08 yet? Me and a buddy where told that all the 07 for service man servingover seas where sold out so, we got a set of 08, due in mid to late SEPT 08.
Hey Sarge, first off thanks for your service.
As I'm sure you know HD just made major changes to the Twin Cam line in 07. The best bet would be that they will not make any changes in 08 but just refine what they did in the 07 bikes. The HD Motor Co. is notoriously tight lipped about what changes will come out in the next model year. I think you can count on your 08 model being nearly identical to the 07 though.
I hope you mean that the bikes will be available in Sept of 07 rather than Sept 08 as you posted. I could see waiting till Sept 07 but not 08.
I agree with SLORider. There probably won't be any major changes, but hopefully all the bugs will be worked out of the 07's. I never buy anything the first year out for just that reason. Congratz, Good Luck, and thanks for your service.
Thank's for the reply, we both did not think changes whould be huge, but could not wait to see if anyone had some inside dirt. SLOridermy bad it is SEPT 07 not 08 I would not be able to hold out till 08.
The exhaust has a variable valve built into it which is controlled by a remote electric motor and some very 'low rent' exposed cables. I've got an 06 and so am not surehow the replacement exhaust guys are getting around this.
Maybe some of the UK/European 07 owners could help with some info.
Not sure if I can help, I have ordered a 07 RK and am awaiting delivery. It is coming with V&H ovals and stage 1 kit bing fitted before I pick it up. (live in Scotland)
I hate to think I'm the genie pig, but I hope they heard that 6th was to tall and bring it back a little!Maybe fix the 5th gear whine also! Although I haven't experienced that yet on the new RKC.
