How does the passenger pillion mount on an 06 Super Glide? The stock solo seat has one bolt in the rear of the seat. There's a hole in the rear fender with nothing in it to screw the rear of the passenger seat into. Does the passenger seat have something that slips into the hole in the fender and then bolt down in the front?
Also, I want to install passenger footpegs...I know I have to buy the passenger footpeg brackets. Where do they bolt on? I haven't really looked but I can't go look right now.
Hey thanks for asking this question YellowHawk. I just got a stock Super Glide Custom seat to put on my SG and I was trying to remember how one had to do that. Thanks for the picture of the part skip, that helped me a lot, now I can finally take it off and move it lol
The passenger pillion has a plastic tab which is held in place under the solo seat with two screws. The metal mounting bracket from the solo seat gets moved to the rear of the pillion.
You my want to look at buying a used two-up seat from another forum member or from eBay, You will probably find one cheaper than the cost of the pillion. IMO, they look better and make it easy to switch back and forth.
Oops! Thanks for the info. I already bought a HD pillion for an 06 Super Glide off ebay this evening for $50. I didn't know it screwed into the solo seat though. That will make it a pain to remove quickly if I don't want it on. Oh well... I would have waited for more info but I got outbid and decided to just buy it now.

Having the ability to go back to a solo seat is great, I just couldn't find a pillion that would flow well in my eyes. Like jmpancoast mentioned watch the for sale ads on here. I was going to drop $200+ on a nice flowing two up seat next spring but came across a deal for a Stock Super Glide Custom seat for $80.
*EDIT- Also if you find a seat cheap like I did, and you wanted to reshape it a bit, there are a few guys on the boards who have done this to their stock ones and are able thelp. The other bonus of a cheap seat is if you wanted to add a nice custom seat you can pretty much afford to get it recovered in something simple but different.
