I currently have the 3 inch risers. I really like how they turned out with my speedo sitting on top, which for me works fine because I kinda ride with a ganster lean, kinda layed back with arms extened.
Came out nice freak - nice combo of bars & grips & cables - buckhorns used to be my favorite bars back when I had my sportster. Glad they work well for you!
Thanks Jake and Chip!
I am wondering now what might be involved in internal wires, I could drill the bars myself, but wiring harness extensions? Anybody do the internal handlebar wires recently?
You should have more than enough wiring inside the frame to run them internal. It's all a matter of pulling the harness out to getto the deutsch connectors and pulling the wires out of them and then runninf them through the bars and putting the pins back into the connectors.
I realize I'm making it sound really simple, but in the grand scheme of it all, it kind of is. Only thing I am leary of is drilling bars, to worried about not doing it correctly and weakening the bars. I thought about it on my last bar change but decided to wait till I made my final desicion on bars and get pre-drilled ones along with an extension kit.
I recently fitted 1 1/4" bars with internal wiring and it was a tight fit particularly where they exit the bars at the risers. No doubt it can be done with the 1" bars and a lot of patience.LOL
