I guess the custom is WideGlide "looking", but I did not want a bike that "looks" like a Wideglide, I wanted a Wideglide!
I like the seat on a Custom, but I like the ride, fit, looks, power and all that is Dyna about the WideGlide. However, thats me. Cant really say what YOU want.
Topspin... There both Great bikes I have both.. But I like the smooth ride of the soft tail better... But I still like my old WG... But the arthritis limits me to ride time on the WG cant take the vibrationsin the hands anymore. I can ride the soft tail all day with out any pain....

Do you really get that much vibration out of your WG?
I was torn between the Night Train in denim black and the Street Bob in denim black. Both styles are great and have a ton of potential for customizing. My choice was simple. The wife said she liked the way I looked on the Bob ~ even though she drooled over the NT for a couple weeks in the brochure. I would've taken either, but chose the Bob because I like the classic lines AND, sorry about your arthritis Trotter, but I love the way that Dyna engine moves. Reminds me of lookin' at bikes when I was coming up in the 70's.
Yea it's hard on the Hands where the Arthritis is the worst in the Knuckles and Wrists... Lot's of broken bones in the hands and over 35 years of riding and Wrenching. Sometimes ya gotta just kick back... I Love them all.. And hate it when I hear the Newer Generation comparing the different models.. In the old days it was just owning a Harley that made it all good.. I guess thing just change....
The Softail Custom is a gorgeous bike and enjoyable to ride, but the counter-balanced engine does not have the punch and responsiveness of the rubber-mounted engine in a Dyna. Dynas handle better. ALL cruiser-style bikes are about compromises, but the Softail has made more of them. They're the beauties of the family, but they've paid a price for the beauty.

I think most of us on the Dyna forum think any Harley is great, Trotter.
Any ribbing I do on Softies is purely in fun, and that's only because I know a number of Softail owners that think the Dynas are inferior in some way.
It is not only Harleys, I can drool over any beautiful piece of machinery............ Especially the ones I can't afford.
The Dyna forum is more interesting, IMNSHO because there are members here with Sporties, Softies, Touring bikes, and I think most of us would be interested in talking with Vrod owners (the newer Dynas share some parts).
The other funny thing is, so many Softail parts will fit on a Dyna. It's all good.
