Which spark plug should I go for?? I want to use SE plug wires as well. I own a 2007 St.Bob I heared some negative comments about SE plugs & wires causing check engine light & interference with ECU.
dyna07custom: Do you have specific instances you can site where SE wires have caused definate diagnosed problems with the fuelpak or ecu? I don't mean like, "I heard that .....etc."
I have read articles and tech data that suggest aftermarket wires can interfere with the ECM on the late model EFI bikes, but no hard data or examples were presented either.
On this forum in the electrical section, I have a thread where I am seeking concrete info on whether or not the latest SE wires have been approved for use on the late model EFI bikes with or without additional tuning modules. I can't reasonably concur that HD would manufature, sell, and advertise these wires for all HD bikes with EFI if they were causing data errors, etc.
I asked my local dealer, and they knew of no issues with running the SE wires on any HD models. They had seen a few data error/check engine light issues with no-name and Accel wires.
I also wrote to the MoCo and asked, but have received no answer as yet. I am not being condescending, just want to know if you personally have had a problem running them on your own bike, or know someone directly who had a problem occur where the replacement of SE wires was the fix.
So far, no one has replied with hard data or info either way.
you will not notice a difference with new plugs.... i tried it all, even wires and an old harley mechanic told me that my stock wires are better than most aftermarket high perfomance wires... run a SE plug and stock wires IMO
I run SE wires with stock plugs and a PC3. I haven't had any problems.
The only problem I read about is those glow-wires that may cause the check engine light to blink.

Here's a list of plugs.
I've been using the SE tripple platinum plugs and SE 8mm wires for 4 months now with no problems. Personally, I think the bike starts easier since the change.
