08 Dyna FXDC starting engine

I traded my 07 Sportster 883L for a 08 Dyna Super Glide Custom recently. The 883 always started up quickly after turning over 1-2 times. The new FXDC takes 3-4 turn overs to start. Recently when it was about 30 degrees it took 8-9 turn overs before it started. Is this normal for the larger engine? After it starts it seems to be running alright. Thanks for your help.

Maybe 3 or 4 times over the year I've had my 07 with TC96 has the engine not started up on the first try. A few times, it has coughed at me and then started on the second try.

Sounds about right. My 07 FXDI usually starts by the third turn even in very cold weather.

Mine always starts the instant I hit the Start button. I turn it to run and hit the start switch immediately. If you turn it to run and let the fuel pump run for just a short time, it will crank 2 or 3 times before it starts after you hit the start switch. At least, that is my experience. Hit the run switch, hit the start switch, bang, it fires.
