Default Speedo fit problem on new risers

If someone has ever swapped out their speedo on a SG, please help.!
I just got these risers"

http://saturn.dnsprotect.com/~rivcop...286&page=1

And they said for '05 and earlier SG, but I went ahead and ordered 'em anyway thinking "how different could it be?" [sm=bangbang.gif]right? ....
Anyways..the fawking speedo housing won't clamp back over the bars 'cause the back plastic cover, I remove it..looks good until I see it still won't clamp down becauseof where the screws that hold that plastic cover down stick out! I could grind those off, I guess, but didn't want to go irreversible.
Question; will a Sportster speedo fit/clampdown on on these risers? Or, does anyone know of a '05 or earlier speedo/speedohousing for sale ? I already checked Ebay, a guy has a Sportster(later model one) speedo for adecent price. Thanks in advance!

lab -
there was a post regarding these risers a while back -i don't remember the details.
the second pic in your link shows an installation on a 2005 superglide, but there may have been some controversy on whether or not these actually worked on an 05 setup.
i thought the speedo castings from 05 to 06 were the same, with the plastic added to hide the wire mess.

if you still have it apart, take a pic of the back - and i'll compare it to my 05 mount.
indicate where your trouble is.

Don't know if there is any new info in here which will help you, but here is the old post about the same risers:

Hey lab -

jmpancoast found the thread - and guess what - you had a couple of contributions to the post - and it clearly states where the interference issues are

Thanks glide07 and jmpancoast, I see the problem has come up before. It IS the screw bosses that interfere. One guy talked about machining the risers, but I think I can just grind off thos screww bosses. it lays flatter then, and that plastic cover didn't do much anyways. I'll have to think about this, I like the looks of these risers, IMO they go well with my new bars. I'll post some pics of the housing and maybe you can compare it to your 05's Thanks again! Heres some pics of the problem, notice the screw boss ( screw boss??..wait a minute..no, this here is serious..) Anyway, notice how they stick out andwon't let the clamp tighten. I am seriously thinking of grinding off those SOB's!
Thanks glide05 for thePM pics
