Well, maybe I DIDN'T post it; the first bead pad was kinda ugly since I didn't know how they were woven. Anyway, WallyWorld carries those "pony beads" in the crafts section for $2/500beads. I used their 50lb. fishing line to weave it together, but for future pads I'll be looking for stronger line - I just don't trust this to sell to someone, although it's not broken yet. Also, it's time consuming with these 8-9mm beads, so I'd like to find some 12mm, but they're expensive. It would run me about $50-60.00 to make one out of those, as they cost about .07-.12 cents a bead. Wood ones are cheaper, but those don't their paint in the rain according to folks using the big ones from taxi seats.
My first one:

Took it back to the parts counter and had it warrantied for a new one.

Then, on the way to the shop, I went by Kinko's, and had it spiral bound.
Same with my parts manual. About 4-6 bux.

Laying flat, and doubling back over itself now, are extra nice features.

Default I think I'm going to get fired...

I've spent most of the last 3 days going thru this entire thread!

Great resource. Some fantastic ideas.

My fav: probably Mud's engine cover powder coat removal and then polish (I was saving for chrome covers but prefer this option).

Thanks everyone. Ill be coming back to this thread often.

Default Blacked out

I am new to this site, but here is my addition. I have most of my fb blacked out with HD parts, but when it came to nuts and bolts on the motor and tranny, I was about to buy the black caps that HD makes for a mearly 150 dollar, decided to get wrinkle black touch up paint, sat on my butt for an afternoon and touched all of them up with a small paint brush. pretty proud of myself and the total cost was 25 dollars for a can of touchup paint and 3 for a paint brush.

Any part you want to turn wrinkle black, I recommend rustoleum spray on truck bed liner. It's about as close to a perfect match as you'll ever see, a can only costs around $7-$8 bucks and it is more durable than paint. I did my chrome horn cover and air cleaner cover on my street bob. No one can tell it's not commercially done until I tell them the secret.

I just bought some cheaper passenger floorboards off Fleabay and the chrome is peeling off even before the wife RODE on it! I had to grind off tabs from one to clear my pipes, so can't return them and you may have just saved the day with that idea!
Thanx, bruh!
