The photos of the Pearl Yellow on the HD website don't even come close to what the paint job is like.
The Pearl Yellow is somewhat irridescent, with fine speckles inside the paint. In the sunlight it absolutely sparlkles. You really have to see it to appreciate the color. The yellow tint is not like a school bus, it is more muted, like an early morning sunrise.
I was drawn to the paint after I saw a Fat Boy in Pearl Yellow. It is then that I checked with the dealer, and they told me they were going to get a delivery of a Pearl Yellow Wide Glide this month.
Anybody thinking about a new bike really needs to see this color before you settle on a look. It isn't very common in the showrooms, but it's definitely worth a look. Another great color out right now is the Pearl DragonFly Green. Same irridescent sparkle in the paint job-looks really good.
We have 2 yellow ones at the dealer in Minot, a Wideglide and Fatboy. It's kinda cool how it is a pearl with a fine mist of blue metallic over the yellow.....
Good luck man...the few days prior to pickup are the worst...drove me nuts. My bike was ready for pickup on a Monday and I couldn't pick it up until the following Sat. because it was raining all week...and I really didn't want to ride a brand new bike in the rain. Of course...before that week, it hadn't rained in 2 months[:@]
I always loved yellow too. I actually bought the two tone black cherry/black pearl and I love it. Welcome to the club!
Tell me about it. This weekend has been gorgeous, temps up in the mid 50's. Here I sit with no bike.
I keep checking my cell phone for the call! I guess at this point it will be next week. Monday is a holiday, so no bike till later. I just keep thinking about all that chrome, raked out forks, and now a big wide tire on the rear. Next week it will probably snow!
you really have to see it in the sunlight to appreciate the way the color will change from yellow, to a irridescent blue-green tint when the sun reflects off the tank.
Sounds like the shopper was like me, once you see the color you must have it!
