Thanks Chipstah. To be quite honest, the look of the wider bars doesen't bother me as much as I thought it would. And I do prefer the "spread" it gives my arms when I'm riding. I chose the height I did, because I felt pretty comfortable with my arms straight out and just above my shoulders versus my hands being elevated over my shoulders a few more inches. Bigger bars have great curb appeal, but I don't think in the long run I would have been happy with them on long trips.
Oh, and the other plus side I discovered about them was the fact that my mirrors are now full functional instead of half my arm being in the mirror.
YUP - when I put on my +1 risers my mirrors were fine and probably could get away with mounting them beneath the bars ??!! Still have the stock bars and with the 3" risers, arms are still a tad lower than my shoulders and comfy. Not sure about going any higher, and above shoulders is illegal in NH. Might be able to get away with 12" apes or thinking about just replacing with the same height but in black.
Jay that does look sharp!!! I would like to hear back from you after riding a few hours. I am trying to come up with an idea to decrease my vibration just a little at the grips.
Thanks man. I'll let you know how the ride is after I can get some time in with them. I never really had a bad vibration problem in my grips, but maybe I just didn't know any better! I will say that the feeling in the bars is smoother than when I was running lower flatter bars before.
I guess the pounding from the front end is dampened by more travel through the bars to my hands? Sounds hokey, but it's a logical guess IMO.
And Chipstah if you make that bad boy any blacker you'll dissapear in the shadows.............
