Thanks all for the suggestions ... I'm going to try for some gauntlets or even a 'muff' for the grips if I can find one ... I've seen those over here ... the rubber over gloves might be a plan too ... i've got a 100 pack of surgical gloves that should fit over if I don't get anything else
I think I'll be adding heated grips to santa's list !
lone rider, you'll hear me riding past Heathrow Thursday morning ... sucking on the witch's [8D] ... I can highly recommend a screen ... its only my hands and face that get really cold, my face I can fix with a full mask
Made it up to London fine ... first long(ish) ride in a couple of months ... the best suggestion was to get the wind off ... none of my local shops had any muffs so i put some surgical rubber gloves on over my normal HD ones and it worked great. I think heated grips will be overkill for UK weather so may just invest in a pair of waterproof outers or gloves ... or if i can convince the OL to buy me some HD heated gloves.
thanks all for the tips
I bought a great pair of gloves online just the other day. For less than twenty bucks these things are awesome?
This is the page where the gloves are listed. You will have to click on riding gloves to get to the actual page to see it. It is item number BGL2066. It comes with a rain mitt that stores in the gauntlet, a great idea. The size runs a bit large but the gauntlet is a bit small so the extra room my hands have in the glove actually helps keep my hands warm, acting as an extra thermal layer.
Twenty bucks is hard to beat for an all leather, winter, rain, riding gauntlet.
One of the guys from the Dyna forum had a thread sometime in recent past where he was discussing a set of wind deflectors for your grips. I don't know exactly what they're called but you may want to look into that as well.
got it ... ta ... https://www.hdforums.com/m_882643/tm.htm
not pretty but its not like they are going to stay on the bike ... they might be the best solution as the muffs look like cr4p !

Not so bad looking, and they match my windscreen. They work quite a bit better in combination with the windshield.
Depends how you look at it, I guess
Gee guys, why don't you get heated gloves? Either Gerbings or Harley-Davidson's (which are made by Gerbing). These are about $165 USD. I just got them and it solved all my cold finger problems.
