Kuryakyn forwards on my '07. Left the mid shaft in and covered with the provided spline cover.

Here's what I did. Fabricated a small 1/8" bracket to attach the mid-shift lever to the engine bolt. It was a lot of cutting and fitting, but it worked great. Also needed a small spacer, 5/16-24 cap screw and nut. You can see by the pictures what I made and how it attaches. Works great and no interferrence with the forward control shift rod. Or you can simply wedge it behind the bolt. The Harley forwards also include a new shift lever which is longer than the stock lever. This is totally unnecessary. The stock lever works just fine. As far as the spline on the mid-shift lever sticking out of the primary, I made a stainless cover with a set screw, but you need not go to that extreme. Just go to your local hardware store and pick up a small black rubber cap that fits over the spline. In my opinion, Harley marketing people are the best in the world. When you purchase assessories for your bike, they have theinstructions written so most people are too scared to try and end up taking it to the dealer for installing. Don't be afraid to try it yourself.

I just installed Kuryakins Forwards on my 05 Dyna...They look classy, and were a breeze to install. If you look at ebay thru EPC you can get them for about $300.00..shipping included. I would recommend this.

I just installed my 06 kit, I left the original trans shift lever which is one inch shorter than the kit lever. It shifts fine and there is no problems. I dont know why they have put a one inch longer shift lever in the kit, all I can think it gives more travel. I did not change the shift lever because it looks like you have to remove the inner primary cover.
