Forward Controls Install Procedure '09 FXDB???

I've not been able to locate a service manual my my local dealer yet. I have seen in other threads the mentioning that the primary does not have to be removed for the install of the FC's. Does anyone have the install procedures for the HD FC's or possible a thread that I have not come across in my searching?

If the foward controls are Harley then just follow the instruction that come with the kit. Just omit removing the primary, you can use the stock tranny shift lever. As for the shifter going through the primary just push it back and wedge it behind a bolt or cut the shaft. If you do a search, you will find many write ups on foward control installation. Good Luck

If you buy the forward control kit for '93 - '05 (P/N 49080-03A), it will come with the clip to secure your shift lever to the rear cylinder and the cap for the sift lever rod in the center of the primary cover, you will also have to buy a longer shift linkage rod but that's cool because the one with the kit looks like crap. I used this kit on my '08 FXDC, took about 30 min. to install. As stated there are several write ups that give all of the details.
