I got mine thru cruiser sustomizing for about $150. You still need the kit from harley and I wouldn't get the detatchable because it messes with the sleek look of your tail lights. It takes the smooth wing out and installs a bolt in it's place. The Harley hard mounted ones fit behind the fender strut and don't mess with the lines it. I believe they offer the rapture bar in Black and it has a removeable pad.

Thanks, everyone, for these responses. Oddly enough, I may have to wait now. It seems my DFO is acting up big time which puts me in the position of having to probably upgrade to the SERT (aaaaaw, poor me!). That would put the 'tude stick on the back burner for a while as funds are limited-to-non-existent.

But, we'll see. Regardless, this is all good info to add to the pile of existing info on 'Tude Sticks.

On a side note, it's funny that I'm back to posting a bit after a hiatus. It seems my activity on this board coincides with current/upcoming wrenching. My 10K is around the corner so I'm studying up. On the flip side, my goodies list precariously expands with every day I'm on here. Funny how that works.

Whiff ...

As everyone has stated, you need the the rigid sideplates ..... unless you go QD. Personally, I'd stay away from the QD stuff as I never got mine to stop all the damned rattling [:@]. The rigid plates are cheaper too. I have the 18" Attitude stick on my bike and it is the perfect height in relation to my mini-apes over 3.5" straight risers. Bassman helped me out with a pic when I was looking-----> https://www.hdforums.com/m_1423090/tm.htm

Good Luck ...

I agree that the rigid is more appealing aesthetically. I'd definitely go that route. I think I figured out my DFO woes, so, I may be back in business. I'll test it tomorrow.

I don't see the point of a big sissy bar, we used to call em "bitch bars" when you don't have a back seat.Sure you can strap stuff to it but what about a luggage rack you can strap stuff to that and they bolt right up to the back fender. For that matter you can carry stuff on your back seat, I rolled like that for years.Oh well, I guess I just don't get it.

Ed, the function is only 1/2 the equation for me - I like the way they look too. Luggage racks, according to my taste, are reserved for 83 Camrys and Cordobas. I won't put one on my bike. But, that's what makes us all different, eh?
