I realize this is off-topic, BUT no one ever reads the other forums for wanted items.
I am seeking a helemt which to me has a lot of sentimental value. It is a HD 3/4 Jet II helmet with the shadow of the HD eagle on the back, and in the foreground, orange letters that say "Harley-Davidson" across the top, and "Motorcycles" across the bottom. This is all as you face the helmet from the back.
I had this helmet, but it was stolen at Laconia bike week this past June. At any rate, it was the only helmet that fit me correctly, I liked the looks of, and served all functions I needed. The new Jet II's are different style and type and again, the sizes don't get me just right.
I need it in size small.
If anyone has one, knows of one, or has a local dealer that still sells this model (it was HD's 2007 model, and now discontinued on the web site), please PM me. I would make it worth someone's while to buy it for me and ship it to my home.
A dealer in northern NH pm'd me and she had done a search on the part number which she found in last year's catalog.
She found 2 dealers who showed the helemt in stock in New England.
I called the dealer in Bridgewater, CT and they are shipping me one as I type this.
LOVE THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome - good for you!
New helmet law in effect here first of the year. Guess I'll be wearing my full face until I can find a half helmet that doesn't give me the marvin the martian look.
Congrats Tim - just goes to show ya, it never hurts to ask!! Enjoy your new Christmas present, and don't forget to ask Santa for a good helmet lock to go with it !!!!!!!!
Chip
PS - might want to go back and edit your original post's subject title and include "FOUND" at the end. just a thought.

Don't know how far you are from a Big Dog dealship, but from what I hear, they have DOT approved helmets with only 5/8" padding. Shouldn't make you look like TOO much of a mushroom!

Only problem with that is - it's actually written into the new NC helmet law that the helmet must not only state via a manufacturer installed outside sticker and inside tag that it is DOT approved but "IT MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST 1" THICK POLYSTYRENE FOAM (that's that dense hard stuff like in a cooler) PADDING". Sucks doesn't it? I can just see State Troopers now stopping people and pulling out a tape measure on their helmets.
