Does anybody know if a gas tank for a fuel injected bike will work on a carbed bike?
I've done a search on here and can't seem to find the answer.
thanks
When I was repairing a tank last summer, I pulled the small 1/2 gallon plastic tank off a leaf mulcher and bungee corded it to the frame and it worked just fine. I think just about anything will work just so long as you.......
wear the proper gloves....
tie the do-rag right....
fill in the small hole in the back of the front fender....
place you HOG sticker on properly....

So, do tell sir, what is the proper protocol for all of the following? Enquiring minds want to know...
wear the proper gloves.... (fingerless or non-fingerless?)
tie the do-rag right.... (knot or bow?)
fill in the small hole in the back of the front fender.... (with what, a screw?)
place you HOG sticker on properly.... (proper method or location or both?)
Sorry I don't know the answer to the hole question but a tank from an EFI bike should work just fine. I have a carb'd 2004 FXD and put a tank from an 2006 EFI bike on this past year as part of a custom sheetmetal swap. the only thing you'll probably have to replace is the small piece that threads into the tank. Carb has a petcock, EFI no petcock assbly. Reuse the one from your carb'd tank and it is a direct swap.
