I put all my winter jackets up in the attic to make room for my Harley t-shirts.

Im in Houston....we dont have winter here. Now, if I was to store one for the winter I would run the tank pretty low, put in some fuel stabilizer, then fill up the tank. If its carb, start it up and run it, then shut the fuel off and let it run till it dies. The take out the plugs and spray some fogging oil in the cylinders.Disconnect the battery and get an automatic battery tender. Now this would be for several months worth of storage. Thankfully, living in Houston I never have to worry about this problem.

I read some where that it's a good idea to plug your exaust with rags so mice don't build a nest in them. I don't know, it sounds like a good idea I guess.

From past experience I don't do anything. Just coat the chrome with polish, wax the paint, Sta-Bil in the gas can just incase the roads become clear.
Like now I'm gonna go to Besy Buy and pick up a video game I ordered online.
