Any stage 1 a/c should do. Popular ones around here are ness big sucker stage 1 and hd se stage 1 among others. There is nothing else you would need that I know of as long as you get a remap or an air/fuel manager of some sort.
Would love to be able to put Big Suckers on,but because we have so much rain here in Northern Ireland i would be scared of the filter getting soaked and the rain getting breathed in through the filter,so looks like im stuck with some kind of closed in filter.
Thanks for helping me out with this issue.
Cheers

No, you don't have to run it open at all. Even the instructions tell you to bolt your football back on over it. We just like the look of it open. I keep my football handy if I plan to do any long riding in the rain but I typically don't plan on such a thing. And, if I get caught in a shower, it shouldn't hurt it. The filter in the ness kit is not paper so rain should not permanently harm it.
Find an air filter that's made of a cotton type fiber that is oil treated periodically, i.e. a K&N performance with the S/E adapter plate and use the football to help shield it. I've been thru some frog strangling rains and the bike never stumbled. The S/E filter is paper and doesn't hold up too well. Good luck and ride safe.
I run a Big Sucker, and while I don't ride in any torrential downpours, no worries on it getting wet. If you get alot of rain and plan o riding in it, pretty much any 8" round a/c cover will work, including the stock football cover.
Hi,
Many thanks for all your help and advice in this matter.
I have gone for the Kuryakyn HI 5 Aircleaner because of the cover over the filter,i was thinking of just a KN Filter and the stock cover over the top as i like the football, maybe give that a try at a later date.
Have a great 2008
