Oh well
At any rate, the bike is back together with a new 25.00 genuine harley davidson tube. Patched the tire to keep the puncture spot from rubbing a hole in the tube.
Just wished there had been an indy open, so I wouldn't have to give the moco the money for another patch proof tube.
Wonder what the hell they make those things out of.
Think I paid less than $6 per tube when I replaced tire's this last summer. And thats in Canada, where were used to paying 3x what the price is south of the border![&:].
Ouch........ That's robbery. Typical HD!

Yeah, no kiddin on the robbery. I can buy a damned truck tube for that. By truck tube, I mean class 8 truck tube.
If there'd been an indie open anywhere within a hundred miles, I wouldn't have bought the damn thing from them at all. Trouble is, both my local indies are closed on mondays, and tues is a holiday, so it would've been wed before I could get a tube, and tommorrow is s'posed to be a good riding day, plus need to be able to ride on new years day.

96.
I'm doing the math here now. 3x2=6
Are you saying that you are rolling on a two dollar tube??
Curious.

That was the one off the service truck. It stuck better than the first two, but we were still able to peel it off with some effort.
had a primer that was brushed on first
to loosen up the tubecompound.
It's a throwaway world nowadaze. Sad
Out of curiousity, what does the indie get for a tube??

If I remember correctly the old hotvulc pocket kit
had a primer that was brushed on first
to loosen up the tubecompound.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I was on a poker run and the lead guy punctured his rear tubed tire. Believe he was on a Heritage Classic. At 60 mph on a long bridge, the tire went flat almost immediately. I think it was a sheet metal screw that got him. If it hadn't been for one of the guys on the ride having a truck and trailer close by - 30 min. or so - he'd been out of luck. Even with another bother in a truck blocking traffic partly for us, the traffic on the bridge was horrendous. No one was budging and everyone was speeding, 15 to 25 mph over the speed limit. Even when a Sherrif's Deputy stopped and put the lights on for our safety, the A-H Cagers, still did not respect how dangerous they were, almost took out the Deputy's ride.
Long story short, I'm a fan of tubless tires. Have been for many, many years. I remember the old spoke days - not with fondness - and always looked for a better solution to trying to repair/replace a tube while on the side of the rode.
