and i measured the bob and I was right at 5 , I dont want to spend 300 for harleys lift
since all I want it for is just those few inches....mainly to get either front or rear wheel off the ground.....wouldnt really have any purpose to get two off the ground.....
maybe when I get older might need a taller lift so that wouldnt have to get on ground....
Craftsman Motorcycle/ATV jack, model 950190. I just went out and measured and mine's exactly 4.5 inches from the floor to the top of the rubber pads.
I think it's more utility oriented then a single lift frame jack, and won't slide as easy, like a bike will on a single lift frame jack, if you're trying to fit a wheel on, or shaking the bike at all. My bike used to move around on my old jack. (Like the one you're asking about)
For the $79-89 (Depending on what sale Sears is having) you can't beat it. The 2 ratcheting straps were included as well....
The bike will still move around a bit on the craftsman jack, but more of an easy rocking, and no actual movement from/on it's perch.
I replaced a rear tire on my old Honda Aero, and had to have the bike up all the way. The Craftsman jack locks out so not only hydraulic pressure holds it up. At that height, (17-18 inches) you had to be careful what you did, but I never once thought it was going to fall. How you tie the bike down also makes ahuge difference.
My bad on the Craftsman height measurement: I had it on carpeting. I put it on the tile and it sits at 4.75" from floor to pad.
