If you want to hear what pipes/mufflers really sound like, go to a bike night or somewherethat you canhear a lot of bikes. Listening to sounds of pipes on the webis a basic waste of time IMHO. If I had evaluated Rineharts products based on what I heard on the web, I wouldn't have bought them. A budgetcan bea consideration and if necessary, you buy the sound you like the best for the money you have to spend. There are a lot of good sounding exhausts out there.
Unless it's a look thing or money is absolutely no object, Rush is a good option. And I've never owned any. Rhineharts are nice any way you slice it but you certainly will pay for them. Rush produces a nice deep tone and the nice thing is that the baffles are easily interchangeable/removeable. I have a friend with Rush 2" baffles on his Heritage. Nice deep sound and fairly loud for slipons. He recently added a PCIII and removed the baffles entirely and got it dyno-tuned to that setup and it sounds/runs good. About a year ago, after I heard his, I went to buy some for my bike. They didn't have them in stock for my model and they talked me into some '06 SE II's by telling me they sounded as good as the Rushes. They didn't. They were okay but I since replaced them with V&H slipons and now V&H Big Radius. I'm finally happy with what I have. I actually liked the look and the sound of the V&H slipons but I like the look and sound of these even better.
I installed the Rinehart Slipons and due to the sound restrictions here in Europe I had to remove them and reinstall my SE 07 mufflers. Far too noisy for my liking and you lose a LOT of the midrange due to them being so open. Top end is fine but the torquey throttle twist it used to have with the SE 07 goes almost completely with the Rineharts. Forget about overtaking the way you used to. Now with the SE 07 I got all my midrange back and the bike pulls like nothing I can compare. Top end power however is slightly down compared to the Rineharts. I am running with a ThunderMax with Autotune and that is the best invention since slided bread...
Sorry to hear you had that experience with your Rineharts. I don't consider mine loud, just deep. It's a subjective thing though. My Cycle Shack slip-ons were louder. Low end torque and mid range good also. Don't usually go over 85mph so no experience on top end. Currentlyinstalling high compression pistons, cams and few other goodies, so will dyno it when done and map the PCIII and see how it performs.
I am looking to install Rinehart 2-2 Flush mounts on my 07 FXDL...my concern is finding a close enough PCIII map for my set up. The PCIII site doesn't list one for my potential set up. IF I put a generic one on is it tough to tweek for a rookie?
If you go to www.youtube.com , do a search for "Rinehart slip ons", there is a Street Bob that has the Rinehart slip ons. They sound pretty good. I went full exhaust myself. I like the look better.
o7 street bob thanks for the hook up. I spoke to Jaime at Fuel moto and I am ordering my set up. $269 with the map. Can't beat it. I am sure if I have issues I can just call him. Thanks
Hey, thats great! I didn't realize your didn't already have the PCIII. Jamie is great and if you have any problems at all, give him a call. He pre-mapped mine too and it's working great.

Agreed the rineharts seem more deep than loud. I think my Rush may be louder.
