I have thought of several suggestions, but I think the easiest would be to roll your pants up tightly, and stuff them inside you shirt.
When you get to work, put your pants on......... just a thought, mind you.
Oh yeh, do you wear briefs or boxers??

Luther you need to get some of those tall motorcycle patrolman boots or horse riding boots. Your in uniform anyway. I think that would look pretty normal

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to try the vinyl to see if it might work. I am willing to try anything to keep riding my bike to work with the price of gas. 18 miles a gallon in my truck to 40 on my bike. I would like to buy the tall boots but $500.00 a pair will buy a lot of pants. I was thinking of a wide piece of velcro to strap down the pants around my leg and keep it from blowing might help. Again I thank everyone for their ideas.

I thought the boots suggestion was a good idea as well.

Would something like this be long enough?

well under $500

why don't you just get some of that two sided velcro that comes in a roll. take a piece or two of that and wrap it around your lower pant leg so that the cuffs are tight to your ankle and shin. Should only cost you about 5 bux.

I too had the same problem ,officer as well, those polyester type pants melt like in a flash, stuffed mine in side my boots,or in side sock, does'nt look so hot but works, pants need to be close to you leg then they will be ok,at time used a velcro strap to tie the pants to my leg.

Don't use vinyl! It will melt just like your pants, they both have plastic type material in them.
See if you can pickup some scrap leather to wrap around the bottom of you pant leg or wear chaps. Wool might work also.

I wear dress pants to work but are made from 100% cotton so they won't melt if they touch the pipe. You get some funny looks when wearing tan pants and a dress shirt (no tie required) but hey I'm enjoying my ride their not.

Three words: "ironing board cover" ... cut out a piece that's tall enough to cover yer pants, and long enough to wrap around the calf/ankle ... nice seams at top/bottom with a piece of elastic in each ... done! If you know someone who's crafty with the sewing machine, have it made with a zipper/velcro so it's easier to put on/take off.

If looking for cheap leather, go to an outlet store. There's a JCPenny outlet near me that has leather jackets for as little as $20. Who cares what it looks like if you're gonna cut it up anyway.

if you're just looking for an easy fix, try a couple rubberbands. They'll hold your pants to your leg without being too obvious, and you can just wrap them over the hand grips when you get to work.
