started looking for a set of night train handle bars and risers. have seen a local custom (way more money than I have) that said his bars on his dyna were stock NT bars/risers. Before I buy some, are they really gonna fit with very little mods? If ya know an answer or have a real good idea, please PM me! Thanks, Ron
I am running a set of the stock Night Train drag bars on my Super Glide and absolutely love them! I am running a 4.5" pull back style riser at the moment. I had to bend the front brake line to fit, ran clutch cable through triple trees, and also relocated front turn signals to forks (later ultimately removing them altogether).
Though I am happy with the setup currently for the bars, I am looking to swap out to different risers and I would suggest a minimum of 5" to clear the tank with the stock signal mounting location on the bars. I picked up my stock NT bars, and the risers at the time for just under $80 I believe.
---OR, a decent (said cheaper but good) set of custom Bars/Risers that are pretty close to that lokk that would have the same reach.
I went for a similar look, but went a different route. I got 6" dogbone risers (8 inch total hieght) on ebay for $90 and 1-1/4" drag bars (Buffalo Bars) from Drag Specialties for $90. The original look I was going for was the Fatbob set-up, but that cost ~$400......Waaayyy too much for stock stuff. I ended up with what I mentioned. Also the bars I got are 31" wide, while the NT's are 27" (I tnink). 27" just seems way too narrow for me.
Here's a pic:
I also needed a new brake line.....The Street Bob brake line is too long for this set-up. Also some poly-bushings are in demand here for the taller risers.
