Y'all leave Clutch alone about his age. You may tempt him to start another 300 post controversialpoll about mature adults and their views on abortion or concealed carry while on the bike.
Hell,I bet he brings up politics and religion in bars.
I used to have an old Triumph bonny chop I think I invented some new swearin words tryin to kick that bastard over on chilly mornings.Till I learned to carry a spray can of ether with me anyway.
Good for you Clutch66!!! While I do have electric start, I still kick her over about half the time. Somehow it just makes the "ride" feel more right. Mine is only 74ci, but she still has a lot of "bite" to go along with her "bark". Kick, or push n go, it's all good.
New H/D's are electric only, and to make one into a "kicker" you would have to change the ignition, as the ignition in there now requires the engine to turn over 1.5 times to fire.[&:]
John - I don't drink (at all), so I never go to bars. I do sometimes stop in at a local biker bar, but I drink only Cokes. I never discuss politics or religion.
I do discuss women and motorcycles and tattoosas much as possible. Which, incidently, can create much more hard feelings (the women part).
But, you have to a admit, that gun thread was a lot of fun and it had almost everybody participating.
And, as a post script, I guess I should mention that the engine was warm and had been running a few minutes before. Growing up in the Washinton D.C. area, I still remember trying to kick one in the Winter.
I still got scars on my shin from a kickstart on a 200X 2 wheeler I used to race. It kicked forward. I couldn't imagine trying to kickstart a 96cu. Thank god for technology!
Meant 3 wheeler. I was much younger when I raced Don't think my body would hold up to that anymore. Still not sure why I jump out of airplanes for a living!!

LOL, and the gun thread was extremely entertaining. It was neat to have read post by members about motorcycles, then see how passionate they got about sensative material.
